What ReelRecs does and what you need to get started

ReelRecs helps adults find movies and shows that fit their taste. Create an account, rate titles you know, inspect personal recommendations and their reasons, then save a candidate or check where it is available. ReelRecs is available for iPhone and Android; movies and shows play through their providers.

What you can do with ReelRecs

Start with the decision you need to make. If you have no candidate, personal suggestions give you somewhere to begin. If a friend already named a movie, search that title and investigate it directly.

Your task ReelRecs' role What you supply
Find something you may enjoy Personal suggestions and Rec Scores Ratings of movies and shows you know
Assess a named title A title page, personal assessment and explanation The correct title and year, plus your judgment about tonight
Keep an option for later Bookmarks you can recover from your profile The titles you choose to save
Find a way to watch Listed provider options A current check of the service, country and any cost
Choose with other people Watch+ group suggestions and interest actions Each participant's account, taste ratings and group membership

There are also social discovery features and other ways to investigate titles. You can start with personal recommendations without making friend-following the first task.

What getting started requires

Install the app from the App Store or Google Play. Check the listing for your device and country. Create an account and complete the current taste setup using titles you have watched. Give your own reactions, including ordinary or disappointing ones when relevant.

ReelRecs' terms require users to be 18 or older. A family can discuss a film together while an eligible adult operates their own account; the app is not a children's account or parental-control service.

The iPhone listing checked for this guide describes a free download. Check the current store listing for pricing details. A free recommendation app does not include subscriptions, rentals or purchases from other providers.

A practical first task

Choose one familiar title to rate honestly, then complete the setup prompts. Open your personal suggestions and inspect a candidate rather than trying to review the entire catalog.

Our personal recommendation walkthrough follows a rated demonstration profile into Killers of the Flower Moon. Its explanation supplies reasons to investigate the suggestion, while the runtime helps the viewer judge the commitment. The October 15, 2026 example uses version 1.0.43 with an existing rated profile; your starting suggestions can differ.

You can also check a movie someone recommended without starting from a feed. Match the year and format, read your personal result and investigate access.

Keep a useful option for another day

A bookmark preserves the candidate inside ReelRecs. In the recorded save-and-recover flow, Past Lives is saved, found in Profile's Bookmarks and reopened. The demonstration declines the reminder offer; the title remains saved.

Adding a bookmark is separate from rating a title or confirming a viewing. Add the titles you want to keep yourself. This guide makes no promise to import or synchronize a Letterboxd diary, Trakt history or streaming-service watchlist.

Choosing together and watching

Watch+ adds a shared decision workflow. Joined members can inspect a Group Score and express Would Watch or Pass. A promising group score does not mean every participant has agreed tonight. The two-profile guide shows actual interest recorded on both sides.

When you settle on a title, open its provider options and verify the exact service offer. ReelRecs helps with the choice and handoff. The provider controls playback, availability, subscriptions and purchase terms.
