Turn a curated movie list into your next watch

A ReelRecs list lets someone curate the possibilities while your taste helps choose from them. Follow a list you like, open Find a pick, and select your time and services. You can also create your own themed lists, share them and keep them useful as you discover more.

  4. Your next watch

Open the title and choose where to watch.

A creator gives you a place to start. Your taste and available time help you choose.

Representative workflow. Your list score combines ratings and Rec Scores across scored titles; at least half the collection must have scores. Lists appear on accounts where available.

Keep the curator’s idea and make the choice yours

A good list gives you a reason to explore: mysteries for a rainy weekend, animation for someone who rarely watches it, or a friend’s favorite films of the year. The curator has already done some useful thinking. You still need to choose the title that fits you tonight.

ReelRecs connects those two steps. A list holds the collection, Your list score summarizes how its scored titles relate to you, and Find a pick helps narrow the options by your time and services.

Lists and badges appear on accounts where those features are available. If your profile currently shows only Bookmarks, use the saved-title workflow while that remains your available route.

Follow a collection you want to return to

Open a list from a profile, a list card in the feed or a shared link. Read its theme, scan the titles and visit the creator’s profile if you want more context. Follow keeps the list in Lists you follow, where you can return to it and find new additions.

Following the list is useful when the theme is the reason you care. You can keep track of a friend’s “short films for weeknights” collection without searching their whole rating history every time you have a free evening.

A Like expresses appreciation. Following gives you a way back to the evolving collection. Use either because the list is useful to you; a large follower count is not needed for a good recommendation.

Understand Your list score

The score belongs to you as the viewer. It averages your existing ratings and personal Rec Scores across the list’s scored titles. At least half of the titles need a score before the app shows a list score; when coverage is incomplete, the card can show how many titles have scores.

That makes it a useful first impression, with a reason to look at individual titles next. A high average may include films you have already rated. It does not mean every unseen title will be a favorite, and it is not a public rating of the creator.

For a new choice, look at the personal scores on the titles you have not seen or use Find a pick. The score guide explains how predictions and your own ratings differ.

Find something for the time and services you have

Open the list and tap Find a pick. Set your country and the services you want to use. Choose Any time, Under 90 min or Under 2 hours, then ask for a pick.

The flow uses your choices to suggest a title from that collection, with a small number of alternatives when available. Titles you have already rated are left out of this new-pick flow. For a series, read the episode-time label; it does not promise that an entire season fits the limit.

Imagine you follow a list of 20 mysteries and have about 90 minutes tonight. You can keep that curated starting point, choose your services and get a smaller set to consider. You do not need to search each title across several streaming apps.

When personal scoring is available, the result is labeled A pick for you. A result labeled A pick from this list is a fallback from the collection. Open the title for its details and current viewing offer. If no title fits, loosen the time or service choice, or save the list for another evening.

Learn something about the person behind the list

A creator’s profile adds their rated titles, visible badges and, where available, a Taste Match comparison with you. The friends guide explains how agreements and disagreements give a recommendation context.

Badges can recognize activity or experience in a genre and help you explore someone’s interests. They do not certify that the person’s next choice will suit everyone. A list’s theme, the titles in it and your own fit remain useful reasons to follow it.

That supports two ways to discover. You can follow someone whose taste resembles yours or explore a thoughtful collection from a different point of view.

Create a list with a clear reason to exist

From Your lists on your profile, choose New list. Give it a name that tells people what connects the titles, add your picks and choose the visibility offered in the editor.

A focused idea makes the collection easier to use. “Movies I liked” can be a personal archive. “My favorite tense mysteries for a short evening” helps someone decide when to return. Add new titles when they strengthen that idea rather than trying to make every list enormous.

Public lists can be discovered and followed. A private list can be shared through a link if you choose that option; anyone who receives that link can forward it. Review the sharing choice before sending. Your underlying private ratings and activity have their own privacy controls.

As a creator, follower, like and recent-open counts can show interest in the collection. They measure engagement with the list, rather than proving that someone watched or enjoyed every recommendation.

Lists and Bookmarks have different everyday uses
