Effective date: May 18, 2026
Last updated: May 18, 2026
Version: 1.0.0
Company: REEL RECS INC, a Delaware corporation
Contact: privacy@reelrecs.com
Privacy Policy: https://reelrecs.com/legal/privacy
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and REEL RECS INC ("ReelRecs," "we," "us," or "our") for your use of the ReelRecs mobile app, websites, and related services (together, "ReelRecs" or the "Service").
Please read these Terms carefully. They include important rules about user content, account termination, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution. Section 21 includes a binding arbitration agreement and class-action waiver for U.S. users, with an opt-out right.
By creating an account, checking the Terms acceptance box, downloading the app, or using ReelRecs, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use ReelRecs.
1. What ReelRecs is
ReelRecs is a social recommendation app for movies and TV. You can rate titles, write reviews and comments, create a watchlist, follow other users, join or create Watch+ groups, and receive recommendations based on your activity and the activity of other users.
ReelRecs is an entertainment and social app. Recommendations, Rec Scores, Friend Scores, Group Scores, World Scores, title information, streaming-availability information, trailers, and similar features are provided for convenience and entertainment. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable. ReelRecs does not guarantee that any title will be available on any streaming service, that you will like a recommended title, or that third-party content information is accurate.
Unless we say otherwise, ReelRecs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any movie studio, television network, streaming service, actor, creator, rights holder, or third-party platform.
2. Eligibility and age
You must be 18 years old or older to use ReelRecs.
By creating an account or using ReelRecs, you represent that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- the information you provide to us is accurate;
- you are legally able to agree to these Terms; and
- if you are under the age of majority where you live, you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use ReelRecs and to agree to these Terms.
ReelRecs is not directed to children or minors. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close the account and delete or de-identify the related information, subject to limited legal, security, and safety exceptions.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for activity that occurs through it.
You agree to:
- provide accurate account information;
- keep your login credentials secure;
- not share your account with others;
- not create accounts for other people without permission;
- not create multiple accounts to evade enforcement, manipulate ratings, spam, scrape, or abuse ReelRecs; and
- notify us promptly at
privacy@reelrecs.comif you believe your account has been compromised.
We may reclaim, change, or restrict usernames that are misleading, inactive, infringe rights, impersonate someone, or violate these Terms.
4. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms. You can read it at:
https://reelrecs.com/legal/privacy
If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy about how we collect, use, retain, or share personal information, the Privacy Policy controls for that issue.
5. Public and private features
ReelRecs is social. Unless you change your settings, some of your profile and activity may be visible to other ReelRecs users.
Depending on your settings and the feature, other users may be able to see your username, display name, profile photo, bio, ratings, reviews, comments, watchlist, follows, followers, Watch+ group memberships, and group activity.
You can use available privacy settings, such as private account, follow approval, or Watch+ group approval, to limit some visibility. Even with privacy settings, you should not post anything that you would be uncomfortable having copied, screenshotted, shared by another user, or retained in backups, logs, moderation records, or legal records for a limited time.
6. User Content
6.1 What "User Content" means
"User Content" means anything you submit, post, upload, display, rate, review, comment on, save, vote on, or otherwise make available through ReelRecs. This includes ratings, reviews, comments, profile photos, bios, watchlists, follows, group names, group votes, and feedback you submit through the app.
6.2 You keep ownership
You keep ownership of your User Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to ReelRecs.
6.3 You give ReelRecs a license
To operate ReelRecs, you give ReelRecs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, copy, display, publish, distribute, modify, adapt, translate, excerpt, analyze, and otherwise use your User Content in connection with:
- operating and improving ReelRecs;
- showing your User Content to other users according to your settings;
- powering recommendations, scores, search, feeds, profiles, and Watch+ groups;
- moderating, enforcing, and securing ReelRecs;
- creating aggregated or de-identified analytics;
- developing and improving ReelRecs recommendation models, as described in the Privacy Policy; and
- promoting ReelRecs, but only for User Content that you make public or otherwise authorize us to use for that purpose.
This license lasts until you delete the User Content or your account, except that it continues where reasonably necessary for:
- content already shared, copied, cached, backed up, or displayed by others;
- de-identified or aggregated data;
- trained model effects that cannot reasonably be isolated to you;
- legal, safety, security, or dispute-resolution purposes; and
- records we are required or permitted to keep under applicable law.
6.4 You are responsible for your User Content
You represent and warrant that you have all rights needed to post your User Content and to grant the license above. You are responsible for your User Content and for any consequences of posting it.
Do not post private information about other people without permission. Do not post copyrighted material, images, clips, or text unless you own it, have permission, or your use is lawful.
6.5 We do not endorse User Content
User Content belongs to the users who post it. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee User Content. We may, but are not required to, review, moderate, remove, restrict, or re-rank User Content.
7. Our content and app license
ReelRecs, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, icons, recommendation logic, scores, databases, compilations, and other materials, is owned by ReelRecs or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property and other laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install, and use the ReelRecs app and Service for your personal, non-commercial entertainment use.
You may not:
- copy, modify, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute ReelRecs or our content except as allowed by these Terms;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code except to the extent applicable law prohibits this restriction;
- remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
- use ReelRecs content, scores, recommendations, or data to build or train a competing service, data product, artificial-intelligence system, machine-learning model, or recommendation engine without our written permission;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk export ReelRecs data except through features we make available; or
- use ReelRecs in a way that violates these Terms, law, or third-party rights.
Open-source software included in the app may be governed by separate open-source licenses. Those licenses control for the relevant open-source components.
8. Community rules: no objectionable content or abusive users
ReelRecs has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
You agree not to post User Content or engage in conduct that:
- is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful;
- harasses, bullies, threatens, abuses, degrades, doxxes, or intimidates another person;
- promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, caste, or any other protected or vulnerable characteristic;
- contains sexually explicit, pornographic, exploitative, or non-consensual intimate content;
- exploits, sexualizes, targets, or endangers minors in any way;
- depicts, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, terrorism, violent extremism, or unlawful violence;
- infringes or violates intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation with a person or organization;
- manipulates ratings, reviews, follows, groups, recommendations, or scores;
- sends spam, scams, phishing attempts, malware, or unwanted promotions;
- attempts to evade moderation, reporting, blocking, rate limits, or security controls;
- interferes with, disrupts, overloads, or attacks ReelRecs or other users;
- uses bots, scripts, scrapers, or automated systems without our written permission; or
- is otherwise objectionable or inconsistent with the purpose of a social movie and TV recommendation app.
9. Reporting, blocking, and moderation
You can report objectionable content or abusive users through in-app reporting tools where available or by emailing privacy@reelrecs.com with enough detail for us to locate the content or account.
Where blocking tools are available, you can block users you do not want to interact with. Blocking may limit visibility or interactions, but it may not remove all past activity, group context, aggregated signals, or screenshots/copies made by others.
We may take any action we reasonably believe is appropriate, including:
- removing, hiding, downranking, or restricting User Content;
- warning users;
- limiting features;
- requiring profile or username changes;
- suspending or terminating accounts;
- preserving records for safety, security, legal, or dispute purposes;
- reporting serious issues to law enforcement or relevant authorities where appropriate; and
- cooperating with lawful requests.
We may moderate manually, automatically, or both. We are not required to monitor all content before it appears, and we do not guarantee that all objectionable content will be removed immediately. We may make mistakes. If you believe we removed content or restricted your account in error, email privacy@reelrecs.com with the subject "Appeal."
10. Copyright and intellectual-property complaints
10.1 DMCA notices
If you believe content on ReelRecs infringes your copyright, send a written notice to:
REEL RECS INC — Copyright Agent
Email: privacy@reelrecs.com
Subject: "DMCA Notice"
Your notice should include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed;
- identification of the material you claim is infringing and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it;
- your contact information, such as name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
We may forward your notice, including your contact information, to the user who posted the content.
10.2 Counter-notices
If your content was removed because of a copyright complaint and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same email address with the subject "DMCA Counter-Notice." Your counter-notice should include the information required by applicable law, including your signature, identification of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, and your contact information.
10.3 Repeat infringers
We may terminate or restrict accounts of users who repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights or who submit bad-faith copyright notices.
10.4 Other IP complaints
For trademark, publicity-right, or other intellectual-property complaints, email privacy@reelrecs.com with enough detail for us to understand and evaluate the issue.
11. Third-party services, links, and content
ReelRecs may link to or integrate with third-party services, including Apple, Google, streaming services, trailer providers, app stores, and third-party websites.
Third-party services are not controlled by ReelRecs. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. For example, when you tap a link to watch a title on a streaming service, that streaming service is responsible for its own content, availability, fees, account rules, and privacy practices.
You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using ReelRecs, including app-store terms, wireless data terms, social-login terms, and streaming-service terms.
12. App stores and mobile-platform terms
12.1 App store terms also apply
If you download ReelRecs through the Apple App Store, Google Play, TestFlight, Play internal testing, or another app marketplace, the marketplace's terms also apply. The marketplace is not responsible for ReelRecs except as required by its own terms or applicable law.
12.2 Apple-specific terms
If you access ReelRecs through an Apple-branded product or Apple distribution channel:
- these Terms are between you and ReelRecs, not Apple;
- Apple is not responsible for ReelRecs or its content;
- ReelRecs, not Apple, is responsible for support and maintenance, except to the extent applicable law says otherwise;
- to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for ReelRecs, except that if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any;
- ReelRecs, not Apple, is responsible for claims relating to ReelRecs or your possession or use of ReelRecs, including product-liability, legal-compliance, privacy, consumer-protection, and intellectual-property claims;
- you represent that you are not located in a country or region subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated by the U.S. government as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. government restricted-party list;
- you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using ReelRecs; and
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce these Terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.
12.3 Apple Standard EULA
Unless ReelRecs separately provides a custom end-user license agreement in App Store Connect, Apple's Standard EULA applies to the app license for Apple-distributed copies of ReelRecs. These Terms govern your ReelRecs account, the Service, User Content, community rules, and other ReelRecs-specific terms.
13. Fees, payments, and ads
ReelRecs is free at launch.
We may add paid features, subscriptions, in-app purchases, advertising, or promotions in the future. If we do, we will provide the required pricing, renewal, cancellation, and other terms at or before purchase. If a purchase is made through an app store or third-party payment provider, that store or provider's payment terms, refund rules, and cancellation rules may apply.
Unless we state otherwise in purchase-specific terms, ReelRecs does not process payments directly at launch.
14. Changes to ReelRecs
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of ReelRecs at any time, including features, recommendation logic, scores, feeds, title metadata, groups, integrations, and availability.
We may release updates that you need to install to continue using ReelRecs. We are not required to support every device, operating system, app version, country, language, or feature forever.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as ReelRecs changes.
If we make a material change, we will provide reasonable notice, such as through the app, email, or a prominent notice on our website. If applicable law or platform rules require consent or re-acknowledgment, we will ask for it. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using ReelRecs and may delete your account.
The "Last updated" date above tells you when these Terms were last changed.
16. Account deletion and termination
16.1 You can delete your account
You may delete your account through Settings → Account → Delete Account where available. You may also use https://reelrecs.com/delete-account or email privacy@reelrecs.com if you cannot access the app.
Account deletion is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion is immediate and not reversible. Backup/log retention and de-identification or aggregation rules are described in the Privacy Policy.
16.2 We may suspend or terminate accounts
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to ReelRecs if we reasonably believe that:
- you violated these Terms;
- your account creates legal, security, privacy, safety, or operational risk;
- your account is being used for abuse, spam, scraping, manipulation, or fraud;
- we are required to do so by law or app-store/platform rules;
- you repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights; or
- continuing to provide the Service to you is no longer commercially or technically practical.
Where reasonable, we may provide notice or a chance to appeal, but we are not required to do so before taking action if we believe urgent action is needed.
16.3 Effects of termination
When your account is terminated or deleted, your right to use ReelRecs ends. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive, including sections about User Content licenses, IP ownership, moderation records, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, disputes, and miscellaneous terms.
17. Feedback
If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, or other comments, you grant ReelRecs a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or compensation. This does not affect your rights in your personal information under the Privacy Policy.
18. Disclaimers
ReelRecs is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReelRecs disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, and uninterrupted operation.
We do not guarantee that:
- ReelRecs will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
- recommendations, scores, title information, streaming availability, or trailers will be accurate or available;
- User Content will be accurate, lawful, or appropriate;
- moderation will catch every issue or resolve every issue in a particular way;
- ReelRecs will meet your expectations; or
- data loss will never occur.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
19. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReelRecs and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, service interruption, computer damage, device damage, or content loss, even if we were advised that those damages were possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReelRecs's total liability for any claim relating to ReelRecs or these Terms will be limited to the greater of:
- the amount you paid ReelRecs, if any, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- USD $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where not waivable, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where not waivable.
20. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ReelRecs and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to:
- your User Content;
- your use or misuse of ReelRecs;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of law or third-party rights; or
- your fraud, willful misconduct, or negligence.
We may control the defense of any claim that you are required to indemnify, and you agree to cooperate with our defense. This section applies only to the extent permitted by applicable consumer-protection law.
21. Governing law and dispute resolution
21.1 Informal resolution first
Before filing a claim, you and ReelRecs agree to try to resolve disputes informally. To start, email privacy@reelrecs.com with the subject "Legal Dispute" and a brief description of the issue and the relief requested.
You and ReelRecs will try in good faith to resolve the dispute for at least 30 days after the notice is received. This informal process does not apply where urgent injunctive relief is needed, where a claim is brought in small-claims court, or where applicable law does not allow it.
21.2 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of the arbitration agreement below.
If you are a consumer outside the United States, the Delaware choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer-protection rights that cannot be waived under the law of your country or region of residence.
21.3 Arbitration for U.S. users
If you are located in the United States, you and ReelRecs agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or ReelRecs will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, except for:
- claims that qualify for small-claims court;
- claims for intellectual-property infringement or misuse;
- claims seeking emergency injunctive relief; and
- claims that applicable law does not allow to be arbitrated.
The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, unless another arbitration provider is required by law or mutually agreed. The arbitration may be conducted by video, phone, written submissions, or in person where required by the rules or law.
21.4 Class-action waiver
You and ReelRecs agree that disputes will be brought only on an individual basis. You waive the right to participate as a plaintiff, claimant, or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, private-attorney-general, or representative proceeding, except where applicable law does not allow that waiver.
If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim must proceed in court, and the rest of this arbitration agreement will continue to apply to any arbitrable claims.
21.5 Arbitration opt-out
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement in this Section 21 by emailing privacy@reelrecs.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Your opt-out email must include the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out," the email address associated with your ReelRecs account, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration.
Opting out of arbitration does not opt you out of the rest of these Terms.
21.6 Courts
For claims that are not subject to arbitration, U.S. users agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, unless applicable law requires otherwise. You and ReelRecs waive any right to a jury trial to the extent permitted by law.
21.7 Non-U.S. users
If you live outside the United States, this Section 21 applies only to the extent allowed by your local law. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from bringing claims in your local courts or before your local consumer, privacy, or regulatory authorities if your local law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.
22. International use, export control, and sanctions
ReelRecs is operated from the United States and may not be appropriate or available in every country.
You agree not to use ReelRecs in violation of U.S. export-control, sanctions, or trade laws, or any other applicable law. You represent that you are not on any U.S. government restricted-party list and are not using ReelRecs from a country or region where such use is prohibited by U.S. law.
23. Notices
We may send notices to you through the app, by email to the address associated with your account, by posting on our website, or by other reasonable means.
You may send notices to us at privacy@reelrecs.com. Use the subject line "Legal Notice" for legal notices, "DMCA Notice" for copyright notices, "Appeal" for moderation appeals, and "Delete my account" for deletion requests.
24. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any feature-specific terms we present to you, are the entire agreement between you and ReelRecs about the Service.
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms will remain in effect.
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written permission. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
The English version of these Terms controls unless applicable law requires otherwise.
