ReelRecs guides
How two taste profiles assess the same movie
Two demonstration profiles both received a personal REC SCORE™ of 10 for The Godfather Part II. Their explanations referred to different ratings of familiar films. The example shows why a personal assessment is worth reading beyond the number: distinct taste histories can accompany the same displayed result.

One candidate, two recorded profiles
We opened The Godfather Part II using two existing ReelRecs demonstration profiles on October 23, 2026. Each account showed a personal prediction labeled Rec Score, with the value 10 and a description placing it near the top of that profile’s recommendations.
The accounts had different recorded opinions. The explanation panels displayed the following prior ratings beside the films they cited. These are the profiles’ own ratings of those earlier films; the final row is the prediction for the candidate being considered.
| Recorded item | Profile A: Dana Ask | Profile B: Dana Ask B |
|---|---|---|
| Own rating of The Godfather | 9.2 | 7.8 |
| Own rating of GoodFellas | 7.8 | 9.2 |
| Own rating of The Shawshank Redemption | 10 | 6.9 |
| Personal prediction for The Godfather Part II | 10 | 10 |
This is the actual equal result. A personal recommender can suggest the same film to people whose recorded opinions differ.
What the explanations showed
Profile A’s reason referred to its 9.2 rating of The Godfather and connections through the director, writer and cast. The panel also displayed GoodFellas at 7.8 and The Shawshank Redemption at 10 among the titles used to explain the resemblance.
Profile B’s explanation referred to its 7.8 rating of The Godfather. Its accompanying examples showed GoodFellas at 9.2 and The Shawshank Redemption at 6.9. The reason also discussed connections through people, setting and themes.
Both panels contained encouraging points and a caution that the candidate sat outside the profile’s usual taste clusters. A strong overall prediction can therefore sit alongside a difference worth considering. The explanation gives the viewer something more specific to investigate.

Use the reason to ask a better question
If you enjoyed The Godfather mainly for its family relationships, look at whether the explanation addresses that interest. If a cited rating is wrong or no longer describes your opinion, review that record in your account. A familiar title appearing in the reason is an invitation to check the connection against your experience.
You also supply tonight’s circumstances. A promising assessment can become a bookmark when you lack the time or attention for that film. When you are ready, reopen the candidate and check current provider access.
A score of 10 is a personal assessment in this interface. It does not mean a guaranteed viewing outcome, a unanimous public opinion or a 100 percent probability that you will enjoy the film.
What was recorded
Profile A used iOS 1.0.56, build 276, in a current Release simulator build. Profile B used the Android 1.0.56 release APK, build 134, on an emulator. The captures preserve the actual numbers and text. These were existing demonstration accounts, with no claim that they represent two independent customers.
Because the accounts were viewed on different platforms, this is an observation of their displayed results rather than a controlled experiment isolating the effect of particular ratings. The table includes the rating examples visible in the explanations, not every rating in each account. Neither capture establishes that a person subsequently watched or liked the candidate.
Try the same check with your own taste
Open a film you are considering, confirm that you are reading its personal prediction, and inspect the attached reason. Decide whether its connections matter to you, then save the candidate or investigate where to watch it. The useful question is whether the assessment helps you make this choice.
