FROM READING TO WATCHING
Follow the title that interests you.
- 01
Enable a site you read
Open ReelRecs from Chrome’s toolbar. In Settings, turn on title highlights for that site. Readable article text is matched on your device.
- 02
Hover for a quick look
A dotted underline marks a recognized title. Hover to check the film or series and its reported US viewing options. If names overlap, choose the year and version you mean.
- 03
Open the full picture
Click the title or the preview’s Details button. A side panel opens with more information, a trailer when available, viewing options and Save for later.
Existing article links keep their original destination. Use the preview’s Details button to open ReelRecs. Keyboard users can focus a marked title, then press the down arrow to reach that button.
ANOTHER WAY IN
Already know the name?
Type it into the side panel. You can also select a title on a webpage, right-click and choose “Find where to watch with ReelRecs.” Search works without enabling site highlights.
Check the year and format before opening the result. That matters for remakes and films that share a name with a series.
Save it for another night.
Your saved titles stay in this Chrome profile. Come back to the list and open a title for a fresh viewing check.
Extension saves are separate from your mobile app watchlist. The first release does not connect to your account.
Know what the viewing option means.
Offers cover the United States in the first release. Each listing shows its reported date. A direct offer link is labeled “View offer”; a provider homepage is labeled “Open service,” with the title to search for. Movies and episodes play through their providers.
HELP & QUESTIONS
A small tool for the moment you need it.
Which browsers and countries does it support?
The first release supports desktop Chrome 140 or newer and reports United States viewing options. It does not run inside Chrome on iPhone or Android. Choose Other country in the panel to see the coverage notice.
Will it highlight titles on every website?
You choose which HTTPS sites can use highlights. Matching runs in readable article and main-content areas and skips forms and editors. Some websites prevent extensions, use unusual layouts or contain names that are too ambiguous to mark. Search in the panel or the right-click menu when a title is missed.
Does it read or send my browsing history?
The extension does not collect your browsing history. Article matching happens on your device. A hover lookup sends the matched title ID and US country to ReelRecs; a manual search sends the name you submit. Your page address and article text are not included. Read the extension privacy details.
Can I turn highlights off?
Open Settings in the extension and select Turn off beside the site. You can also remove site access in Chrome’s extension settings. Search and your saved list still work.
What if an offer or title looks wrong?
Check the release year and whether the result is a movie or series. Confirm access with the provider. If the result still looks wrong, contact ReelRecs with the title, year and provider. Please leave out private page text and account details.
How do I fix a blank or slow lookup?
Check your connection, then try Search again. If ReelRecs asks you to wait, pause for a minute before retrying. Your local saved list is available while the service is unavailable. Chrome’s Manage extensions page lets you check that the extension is enabled and up to date.
Does this include personal recommendations?
