What happened to the Likewise name?
As of October 23, 2026, likewise.com redirects to Pix Media. The official App Store listing still names the mobile app “Likewise: Movie, TV, Book Recs,” with Likewise, Inc. as developer. Its description includes the Pix AI companion. Follow the official listing when looking for the app rather than assuming every product called Pix is the same service.
| What you want | Likewise / Pix | ReelRecs |
|---|---|---|
| Range of entertainment | Movies, television, books and podcasts | Movie and TV recommendations |
| Discover a possibility | Personal suggestions, community input and Ask Pix | For You suggestions or search for a named title |
| Understand a suggestion | Pix's documented contextual explanations | Rec Score's Why this score explanation |
| Remember candidates | Saved lists | Saved titles you can revisit |
| Shape future suggestions | Preference learning described in the listing | Ratings used in your personal taste profile |
Likewise's official listing describes a free download with in-app purchases. Its breadth is useful if your next choice might be a book rather than a film. Likewise's App Store listing.
Start from the part of a favorite you liked
Suppose you enjoyed a tense science-fiction film because of its uneasy relationships. “More science fiction” could send you toward spectacle when you wanted another contained story. Before evaluating suggestions, write a short description of the experience you want: a small cast, uncertainty about motives, and enough tension to keep you engaged.
A conversational tool is useful for expressing that nuance and revising it when a suggestion misses. A community can also explain why a specific title fits. In ReelRecs, the continuing taste profile gives you another way to assess the candidates: search for a title, read its predicted fit and inspect the explanation.
You can keep an interesting suggestion from elsewhere. There is no requirement to discover it inside ReelRecs first. A friend's message, a review or a Likewise recommendation can become the starting point for the known-title checking workflow.
What the ReelRecs routine looks like
Create an account and complete the taste setup with titles you have watched. Open For You when you want possibilities, or search directly when you already have one. On the title page, read Rec Score with its explanation. Check the premise and runtime, then decide whether the film fits this evening.
Our documented example gives Past Lives a Rec Score of 7.0 for an existing test profile. Its number belongs to that profile; it is not a public verdict on the film. A viewer can use the accompanying reason to decide whether a quiet, relationship-focused evening sounds appealing.
Save a candidate you want to keep. Returning to that saved title means you can resume the decision without recalling which conversation or list first mentioned it. Before watching, open provider options and confirm the current offer on the service itself.
The reason to add another app
A second discovery app should earn its place by helping you make a decision. If the community and Pix already give you useful suggestions, explanations and a reliable place to keep them, continue using them. ReelRecs is worth considering when you want a dedicated movie and TV taste profile with a visible personal-score workflow.
The iPhone download is free. Your main initial commitment is an account and honest ratings, followed by giving feedback as you watch. That recurring habit matters more than which app supplies the longest first list of titles.
Official naming and feature information checked October 23, 2026. The ReelRecs numerical example comes from the October 15 version 1.0.43 walkthrough. This comparison does not report a live Pix conversation or a measured recommendation winner.
