ReelRecs guides
Movie discovery app pricing compared
Pay for a movie app when a specific feature improves a habit you already have. Letterboxd Pro adds service filters and viewing statistics; SIMKL paid plans add recommendation and tracking features. ReelRecs currently has a free US iPhone download. Start with the workflow you need, then check whether a paid tier is required for that job.

Pay for the part you will use
A viewer who keeps a diary and checks which saved films have reached a preferred service has a concrete reason to consider Letterboxd Pro. Someone who mainly wants to record ratings can start with its free account. Patron's extra presentation features may appeal to an enthusiastic member, but they are a separate purchase decision from finding a film tonight.
SIMKL makes more sense to evaluate around an established tracking habit. If you need calendar feeds, backups or exports, inspect the exact feature row and tier. Its displayed $5.83 monthly equivalent for VIP corresponds to two $34.99 payments per year, totaling $69.98 in the reviewed offer. Do not mistake that label for month-to-month billing.
Taste's public FAQ explains Premium cancellation through the purchase channel. It does not establish a current universal Premium price. Open the actual offer on your device if a paid feature interests you, then read the billing period and renewal terms before accepting.
Try personal discovery before buying more organization
If your main problem is choosing among films, start by testing the decision itself. In ReelRecs, create an account, rate watched titles and inspect the explanation for a candidate's Rec Score. Check whether it helps you choose, postpone or reject that film.
The personal recommendation guide shows the routine with an existing rated profile. Its promising suggestion still has a long runtime, so saving it for another evening is a useful outcome. A recommendation tool does not need to generate a huge collection to help.
A free download describes today's entry price. It is not a promise that every future feature will remain free. Also distinguish discovery costs from viewing costs: a suggested title may require a streaming subscription, rental or purchase through another provider.
Make the purchase decision concrete
Before upgrading, name one task you expect to do regularly, such as checking a service-filtered watchlist or exporting a viewing history. Confirm that the tier you are buying includes that task on the device you use. Try the free workflow first when possible.
If you cannot name a paid feature you would miss, keep the free option. When paying annually, review the total charge and renewal date. When cancelling, use the channel that holds the subscription; removing an app from your phone does not by itself cancel its billing.
This compares current published offers and feature descriptions. No paid plan was purchased, and it does not estimate savings or rank recommendation accuracy by subscription price.
