Choose the part of From you want more of
From combines two pleasures: fearing what happens tonight and trying to understand the place itself. A good follow-up depends on which keeps you watching. A series can share its mystery while giving you a very different level of horror.
| What you want after From | Start here | The important difference | Commitment |
|---|---|---|---|
| A close community, fear and supernatural danger | Midnight Mass (2021) | Patient conversations about belief and grief, with disturbing horror | Seven-episode limited series |
| A puzzle built from a town’s secrets | Dark (2017) | Time and family connections demand close attention; German-language | Three completed seasons |
| People living inside a place they cannot understand | Silo (2023) | Institutional control and investigation drive the tension | Three seasons released; story continuing |
| Strangers building a community around a mystery | Lost (2004) | A much larger ensemble and longer adventure | Six completed seasons |
| Isolation, failing leadership and a physical threat | The Terror (2018), season one | Historical survival horror in the Arctic | Ten-episode first-season story |
For intensity, Midnight Mass and The Terror are the direct horror choices. Dark is emotionally bleak, while Silo and Lost build suspense around danger and survival. For a firm content limit, use our spoiler-light content-checking guide. The descriptions below stay with the starting premises.
Midnight Mass: for a community changed by supernatural fear
An isolated island receives a new priest, and events that look miraculous begin to divide its residents. Netflix describes Midnight Mass as a seven-episode limited series, created and directed by Mike Flanagan.
The connection to From is how fear spreads through a small community. The people share a place, but they bring different convictions, grudges and ideas about whom to trust. That gives a frightening event consequences beyond the person who first encounters it.
Allow time for long conversations about faith, grief and guilt, alongside graphic violence and bloody horror. The show builds dread through those relationships before moving into more overt horror. Choose it for a complete supernatural story; Dark is the better route if assembling the puzzle is your main pleasure.

Dark: for the pleasure of connecting the clues
A child disappears in a German town, drawing several families into a mystery tied to their shared history. Netflix identifies season three as Dark’s final season. You can begin knowing there is a completed run.
From makes ordinary places feel wrong; Dark does that through the relationships between people, places and times. Pay attention to names and family connections. A detail that seems incidental can change how you understand another scene.
Its pull is a dense, melancholy investigation rather than a nightly fight against creatures. Choose it when you want to give the story your full attention. If you watch in English, check the subtitle and dub options on the version you play. Already finished it? Our what to watch after Dark guide separates shorter timeline puzzles from longer adventures.

Silo: for a society built around rules and missing information
Thousands of people live underground, where strict rules govern their survival and what they are allowed to know. An engineer starts investigating events that challenge the official account of their world. Apple’s Silo page identifies the series and its continuing seasons.
This is the closest choice here for the question, “Who decided how this place works?” Both shows make the setting part of the problem. Trying to uncover the truth also means dealing with the people who maintain order and the neighbors who depend on it.
Silo places more weight on institutions, class and investigation than on immediate supernatural attack. Start with season one and avoid later-season synopses, which reveal earlier turns. As of November 4, 2026, three seasons have been released and Apple lists season four for July 9, 2027. Choose Midnight Mass or Dark if finishing the whole narrative now matters more.

Lost: for a large cast living inside a larger mystery
Survivors of a plane crash try to build a life on an island that keeps presenting new questions. Their histories and conflicting instincts become as important as food, shelter and rescue. ABC lists all six seasons of Lost.
Choose it if the relationships in From make you care about what happens to the town. Lost spends substantial time with individual characters, using their earlier lives to change how you read their choices on the island. Harold Perrineau appears in both series, though the characters and stories are separate.
Six seasons make this the longest commitment on the list. Expect a broad adventure, shifting alliances and emotional character stories alongside the questions about the setting. For a smaller commitment, choose Dark for the puzzle or Midnight Mass for a complete horror story.

The Terror, season one: for survival when escape is impossible
An Arctic expedition becomes trapped in the ice. Cold, dwindling supplies and an unexplained threat put the crews and their leaders under pressure. AMC’s first-season guide lists its ten episodes.
The link to From is practical as well as frightening: people must make rules, share resources and decide whose judgment to trust while danger limits their freedom. Every failure of leadership makes survival harder. The period setting gives that problem a different social hierarchy and physical environment.
Choose the first season, beginning with “Go for Broke.” The Terror is an anthology, and later seasons tell different stories. This Arctic story stands on its own. Its violence, bodily suffering and bleakness make it a heavier choice than Lost.
