After a commercial flight from Sydney to Los Angeles breaks apart over the South Pacific, the survivors are stranded on an island where finding water, food, and shelter is only the beginning. Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly are among the castaways forced into uneasy cooperation as rival instincts, shifting loyalties, and the possibility of rescue collide with the island’s increasingly strange secrets. Around them, a large ensemble including Jorge Garcia and Terry O’Quinn fills out a community of strangers who arrived with more baggage than what was lost in the crash. Flashbacks fold in the lives they left behind before the disaster.
