On a small, isolated island, a devout community struggling with poverty and old grievances begins to change when a young man returns home and a mysterious new priest arrives to lead St. Patrick’s. Father Paul’s sermons seem to spark renewed faith, and soon the town is gripped by recoveries and events that look like miracles. But as devotion deepens, so do unease and division. Riley Flynn, played by Zach Gilford, sees the island’s fervor harden into something dangerous, while Father Paul, played by Hamish Linklater, becomes the center of a growing mystery. What begins as religious revival turns into a spreading dread that reaches every home on the island.
