The Terrace

ComedyDrama150 min

On a terrace in Rome, eight members of Italy’s Communist Party reunite for a dinner that turns into a long conversation about their past, present, and future. Vittorio Gassman and Ugo Tognazzi are among the familiar faces in the ensemble, as the gathering moves between political talk, memory, and the intersecting lives of the guests. Built around one evening on a Roman rooftop, the film sketches a portrait of Italian public and social life at the turn of the 1980s.
