An awkward middle-aged man and an exuberant younger woman meet by chance and keep circling back into each other’s lives, even though almost nothing about them seems to fit. He is cautious, set in his habits, and uneasy in social situations; she moves through a noisy, crowded family world with far more energy than he can manage. As they try dating, every outing turns into a small test of temperament, age, and expectation. Misread signals, family pressures, and their own uncertainty keep pushing them apart just as attraction pulls them closer. With Paul Dooley and Marta Heflin at the center, the film follows a romance built less on fantasy than on two mismatched people trying to see whether affection can survive discomfort.
