On his honeymoon in Miami, a newlywed starts to feel trapped by the wife he rushed into marrying. Instead of settling into married life, he becomes fixated on another woman he spots at the resort and begins pursuing the fantasy she seems to represent. That obsession turns the trip into a string of awkward lies, humiliations, and increasingly selfish attempts to rewrite his future while his bride is left to absorb the damage. Charles Grodin plays the husband as a man whose confidence keeps outrunning his judgment, and Elaine May lets the comedy grow sharper as his romantic chasing exposes vanity, cruelty, and wishful thinking.
