Same Time, Next Year

ComedyDramaRomance119 min

After a chance dinner at a romantic inn leaves two married strangers in the same bed the next morning, they make an unusual pact: one weekend a year, in the same hotel room. Ellen Burstyn is Doris, and Alan Alda’s George becomes her annual constant as the decades pass and each arrives carrying a different personal crisis from life at home. Their meetings pick up after long stretches apart, tracing an affair shaped as much by time and change as by romance.
