Lovers and Other Strangers
ComedyDramaRomance104 min
As a wedding brings two families together, the film cuts between several couples at different stages of love, marriage, and disillusionment. A young pair rushes toward the altar while parents, exes, and longtime spouses argue over fidelity, sex, money, and what romance looks like once the ceremony is over. Each episode shifts the view of marriage: newlyweds collide over expectations, older partners nurse old resentments, and casual affairs expose how badly people talk to the ones closest to them. With Cloris Leachman and Bea Arthur among the ensemble, the story turns a single celebration into a chain of comic and uneasy encounters about how strangers become lovers and how lovers can end up feeling like strangers again.
