Vizontele

ComedyDrama110 min

In a small town in Hakkari at the start of the 1970s, the arrival of the community’s first television turns a major civic event into comic upheaval. The mysterious new device — quickly nicknamed “Vizontele” by the locals — brings together neighbors, officials, and families as everyone tries to understand what this machine will mean for the town. Yılmaz Erdoğan is among the residents caught up in the scramble, with Demet Akbağ and Altan Erkekli helping fill out the ensemble. Drawn from Erdoğan’s childhood memories, the film frames the coming of new technology through village life, local rhythms, and the confusion that follows when modernity finally arrives.
