The North Star
DramaRomanceWar108 min
In a Soviet Ukrainian village, farm work, young love, and school lessons give way to war when the German invasion reaches the community. Neighbors who were planning marriages and harvests are forced to choose between submission and resistance as occupation brings shootings, raids, and brutal reprisals. A local doctor and teacher become central figures as the villagers hide the wounded, pass information, and fight to keep the village from breaking apart under terror. Anne Baxter and Dana Andrews are among the townspeople caught in that shift from ordinary life to organized defiance. The story follows how a close-knit community turns itself into a resistance force while the cost of fighting keeps rising.
