The Loner
ActionCrimeDramaThriller100 min
On the verge of leaving the Paris police for a quieter life in the West Indies, Commissioner Stan Jalard watches those plans vanish when a nightclub arrest brings him face to face with a notorious gangster and costs his partner his life. Jean-Paul Belmondo is Stan, who stays on the force, becomes a guardian figure to his late friend’s son, and waits for the moment the fugitive surfaces again. When the killer returns to the capital two years later, the case turns into a long, personal pursuit through Paris, with revenge and duty pulling the investigation together.
