A radio quiz host who has spent years touring from town to town with his loyal assistant finds the act wearing thin as audiences shrink and the future closes in. Life on the road has given them a routine, a livelihood, and a strange dependence on each other, but each stop now brings small humiliations, frayed nerves, and the sense that the show may be reaching its end. As they keep moving through provincial France, the assistant starts to imagine a life beyond the host’s shadow, while the host clings to the fame and habits that still make him feel necessary. Their trip turns into a reckoning over friendship, need, and what remains when the spotlight fades.
