A secret coast-to-coast road race sends an unruly pack of drivers tearing from Connecticut to California, each crew trying to outsmart the others and stay ahead of the police. The contestants turn the trip into a rolling stunt show: they swap disguises, fake emergencies, bend the rules, and turn every stop into another chance to gain ground. Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise lead one of the most aggressive teams, but they are surrounded by rivals just as reckless, from smooth talkers to swaggering eccentrics. What unfolds is less a clean race than a chain of chases, near misses, and roadside chaos as the field barrels west.
