The Grifters
CrimeDramaThriller110 min
After a botched con leaves a small-time hustler hospitalized, he finds himself pulled back toward the estranged mother he barely knows and the girlfriend who has her own angles to work. John Cusack is the son caught in the middle, trying to navigate two women who understand deception better than he does. Anjelica Huston’s Lily works the racetrack for a bookie, while Annette Bening gives the younger grifter a bright, calculating edge. As the three circle one another, family loyalty, money, and survival start to blur into the same game.
