The Shape of Water
DramaFantasyRomanceSci-Fi123 min
During the Cold War in 1962, mute janitor Elisa works nights in a high-security government laboratory, where a classified specimen is kept behind locked doors. Sally Hawkins is Elisa, whose quiet routine shifts when she discovers the amphibious captive and forms a bond with him. Octavia Spencer's Zelda is the co-worker beside her on the night shift, while Michael Shannon oversees the project as the official enforcing its secrecy. As Elisa weighs a way to get him out, Guillermo del Toro places their romance inside fluorescent corridors, military oversight, and the clipped anxiety of Cold War America.
