Friday Night Lights
ActionAdventureDrama118 min
High school football is the center of life in Odessa, Texas, where the Permian Panthers carry a town’s expectations into the 1988 season. Billy Bob Thornton is coach Gary Gaines, trying to steady both his players and the adults around them after star tailback Boobie Miles (Derek Luke) is seriously injured in the opener. As the season shifts, the film follows the team through mounting pressure on and off the field, with Friday nights exposing the town’s fault lines around race, class, family, and the weight placed on teenage athletes.
