Million Dollar Baby

Drama132 min

A working-class amateur boxer keeps showing up at a Los Angeles gym, asking an aging trainer to teach her how to fight. Maggie Fitzgerald has little money, little support, and no obvious path forward, but she refuses to leave when Frankie Dunn turns her away. As he slowly agrees to train her, their strict coach-fighter arrangement grows into a bond built on discipline, trust, and the bruising routines of the ring. With help from the gym’s longtime observer and former boxer, played by Morgan Freeman, Maggie begins climbing toward a professional career. Each win raises the stakes, and the pursuit of a title pushes both fighter and trainer toward consequences neither can fully control.
