American History X
CrimeDrama119 min
Derek Vineyard returns to his Los Angeles neighborhood after three years in prison determined to cut ties with the white supremacist gang he once led and keep his younger brother from following him. Edward Norton's Derek comes back changed, but Danny (Edward Furlong) is already being drawn into the same skinhead culture and racial violence that once made Derek a local leader. Told in part through Danny's narration, the film moves between Derek's life before prison and his attempt to break the hold his past still has on his family, his friends, and his brother.
