Stroszek
ComedyDrama116 min
Fresh out of prison and warned to stop drinking, Bruno S. is Bruno Stroszek, a street musician scraping by with an accordion and a glockenspiel. He falls in with Eva Mattes’s Eva, a prostitute under pressure from her pimps, and the two join Stroszek’s elderly neighbor Scheitz (Clemens Scheitz) when he decides to leave Germany for Wisconsin. Werner Herzog follows them from street-corner performances and cramped rooms to mobile homes and small-town America, where the idea of a new life meets money problems, isolation, and the awkwardness of starting over in unfamiliar surroundings.
