In Hamburg, a quiet picture framer learns he may be terminally ill and finds his ordinary life suddenly open to manipulation. Tom Ripley, an American criminal moving easily through art deals and underworld favors, uses that fear to draw Jonathan Zimmermann into a murder-for-hire scheme. What begins as a single job on a train pulls Jonathan into a world he does not understand, where every errand seems connected to another lie and every promise comes with a price. As he tries to protect his family and hold on to his conscience, the line between victim, accomplice, and partner starts to blur.
