Fleeing the police after his mother’s death, Aden heads into the desert, where George Shannon is a hunted outsider who finds shelter with a hermit bound to Mother-Earth. He persuades the man to return with him to the city, sending the film from barren landscapes into an urban world shaped by spectacle, sexuality, and taboo. Between the desert and the streets, the story keeps slipping away from straight realism, using dream logic and surreal imagery to turn Aden’s flight into a collision between the natural world and modern life.
