Stavisky
CrimeDrama120 min
In 1933 Biarritz, Serge Alexandre—better known as Stavisky—uses charm, bribery, and social polish to turn a small-time con into a path straight through France’s industrial and political elite. Jean-Paul Belmondo is the smooth, image-conscious swindler at the center of the scheme, with Anny Duperey as his wife, Arlette, moving beside him through a world of money, influence, and performance. As Stavisky’s fraud swells into a scandal involving millions, the circle around him widens from private fixers and patrons to ministers and public unrest, with the affair threatening to shake the government itself.
