Jackie Chan is Lung, a gifted young fighter in Hong Kong who spends his days loafing, clowning, and picking street fights despite his grandfather’s strict order to stay out of trouble. When a brutal general recognizes Lung’s kung fu style and connects it to a clan he’s been hunting, Lung and his family are pulled into a deadly feud. James Tien turns up as the ruthless pursuer, while Lung is pushed toward a secret fighting form his grandfather has kept hidden. Chan’s early starring vehicle mixes broad comedy, scrappy training, and hand-to-hand fights built around his speed and acrobatic style.
