Blind Shaft

CrimeDramaThriller92 min

In the illegal coal mines of northern China, two drifters make a living by staging fatal accidents underground. They befriend fellow laborers, lure them into dangerous shifts, then claim compensation money by posing as grieving relatives. Their routine depends on the chaos of the mines and the desperation of workers who can disappear without much notice. When they take in a much younger miner as their next target, the job stops feeling as simple as another scam. Suspicion, guilt, and the constant danger below ground begin to upset the balance between the two men, as the mine itself remains a place where profit and human life are weighed against each other.
