The Mortal Storm
Drama100 min
In Germany as Hitler rises to power, a close-knit family and the people around them watch ordinary life turn dangerous almost overnight. Political loyalty begins to divide neighbors, friends, and even those under the same roof, as fear and pressure force private beliefs into public view. What starts as disagreement hardens into persecution, and the cost of refusing to conform keeps climbing. At the center, a young woman played by Margaret Sullavan and a man played by James Stewart are pulled into a country changing faster than they can outrun. The story follows how love, family ties, and simple decency come under strain as Nazi rule tightens its grip.
