The Seventh Cross

DramaMysteryThrillerWar112 min

In Nazi Germany in 1936, seven prisoners escape from a concentration camp, and the commandant raises seven crosses for the men he means to catch and kill. Spencer Tracy is George Heisler, the one fugitive still at large, slipping across the country as the Gestapo closes in and the seventh cross remains empty. His route toward Holland forces him to rely on workers, families, and old acquaintances, turning his flight into a portrait of how ordinary people respond under terror. Signe Hasso is among those pulled into Heisler’s desperate bid for freedom.
