None Shall Escape
DramaWar85 min
At a postwar war-crimes trial, former Nazi officer Wilhelm Grimm faces testimony from the people who knew him before and during the occupation. As witnesses take the stand, the film pieces together how an ordinary schoolteacher in Poland becomes a willing instrument of brutality and persecution. A Catholic priest, Grimm’s brother Karl, and Marja Pacierkowski, once engaged to him, each reveal a different stage of that descent. Their accounts move between private betrayals and public crimes, showing how Grimm uses power, fear, and ideology to tighten his hold on those around him. Alexander Knox is folded into the center of a story built on accusation, memory, and the effort to pin responsibility to one man.
