A middle-aged husband’s affair with a much younger woman throws his marriage into open conflict, and his wife answers by starting a younger romance of her own. Anthony Hopkins is the restless husband at the center of the split, while Shirley MacLaine’s wife refuses to absorb the humiliation quietly. Bo Derek is the young woman who sets the upheaval in motion. Framed as a marital comedy-drama with a strong streak of midlife-crisis messiness, the film follows a couple whose private resentments become harder to contain once both sides stop pretending everything is fine.
