Bug
DramaHorrorThriller102 min
Agnes is a lonely waitress holed up in a rundown roadside motel in Oklahoma, trying to stay ahead of the ex-husband who’s just been released from prison. Ashley Judd’s Agnes finds an uneasy refuge with Peter, a soft-spoken drifter and Gulf War veteran in one of Michael Shannon’s most unsettling early performances. As their tentative relationship deepens, the motel room closes in around them and strange bugs seem to appear in the walls, the bed, and under the skin. William Friedkin keeps the story pinned to that claustrophobic space, where isolation and paranoia turn every conversation into a threat.
