Scarecrow
Drama112 min
On the road with little more than odd jobs and a shared scheme, two drifters wander across America, meeting women, trading stories, and talking up a car wash they hope to open in Pittsburgh. Gene Hackman is one half of the pair, worn down and stubborn; opposite him, Al Pacino brings a looser, more boyish energy to his traveling companion. Their stops are small and temporary — roadside rooms, bars, stretches of highway — while the friendship between them shifts from banter to friction and back again. The film keeps close to their day-to-day drift and the fragile plans that keep them moving.
