Mean Streets
CrimeDramaThriller112 min
Charlie is a small-time hood in New York’s Little Italy, pulled between his ambition in the local mob, his loyalty to his reckless friend, and his relationship with Teresa, a woman his family considers unsuitable because of her epilepsy. Harvey Keitel is Charlie, trying to keep his footing as Robert De Niro’s Johnny Boy racks up debts and antagonizes the wrong people. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film centers on a close-knit Italian American neighborhood where business, family, religion, and street-level violence are tangled together.
