Novelist Leon heads to a holiday house by the Baltic Sea with his friend Felix, hoping to finish his new book, and arrives to find an unexpected guest already living there. Thomas Schubert is Leon, tense and self-absorbed; Paula Beer’s Nadja upends the household with her ease, her blunt honesty, and her growing hold on his attention. As the days fill with swims, meals, writing frustrations, and awkward flirtations, the small frictions inside the house start to sharpen while smoke from nearby forest fires creeps closer to the coast.
