The Teachers' Lounge
Drama98 min
Carla Nowak is a young teacher at a German middle school whose easy rapport with her seventh-grade class starts to fray when a string of thefts puts one of her students under suspicion. Leonie Benesch is Carla, determined to sort out the accusations herself as staff pressure, angry parents, and student gossip spread through the school. Alongside Benesch, Anne-Kathrin Gummich is among the colleagues caught in the fallout, as Carla’s attempt to handle the matter fairly turns a routine disciplinary problem into a larger clash between her ideals and the rules of the institution around her.
