Io Capitano
ActionAdventureDrama122 min
Longing for a future beyond Dakar, two Senegalese teenagers leave West Africa for Italy and find a route defined by checkpoints, the Sahara Desert, and the Mediterranean. Seydou Sarr and Moustapha Fall are the friends at the center of the journey, moving from the excitement of departure into a chain of border crossings and dangerous passage. The film stays close to their point of view as the idea of Europe shifts from distant promise to a grueling trip over land and water.
