Requiem for a Heavyweight

Drama95 min

After a punishing loss ends his boxing career, 37-year-old Louis “Mountain” Rivera has to figure out who he is outside the ring. Anthony Quinn is the scarred heavyweight, suddenly cut loose in New York and scrambling for a second act while people around him push their own answers. Julie Harris’s Grace Miller, a social worker who sees more for him than another beating, becomes part of that struggle. Adapted from Rod Serling’s teleplay, the film follows a fighter facing the hard shift from public spectacle to ordinary life, with the boxing world still hanging over every decision.
