Somebody Up There Likes Me

Drama114 min

Paul Newman is Rocky Graziano, a New York street kid and juvenile delinquent whose temper keeps landing him in trouble with his father, the police, and the Army. Boxing gives him a name, a purpose, and a way out of the life closing in around him. Pier Angeli appears opposite Newman as the woman he marries while Rocky tries to steady himself outside the ring. Following Graziano’s early rise from delinquency toward the middleweight title, the film stays close to the bruising routines of gyms, apartments, and city streets.
