An egocentric actor signs on to a TV remake of Bewitched and, thinking an unknown co-star will keep the focus on him, accidentally hires a woman who’s actually a witch. Will Ferrell is Jack Wyatt, a Hollywood star trying to climb back into the spotlight, while Nicole Kidman’s Isabel steps onto the set with very little interest in playing by ordinary rules. As the production turns into a collision between studio vanity and literal magic, the film folds a behind-the-scenes Hollywood comedy into a romantic fantasy, with Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine rounding out the ensemble.
