Defiance
ActionAdventureDramaThrillerWar137 min
During World War II, four Jewish brothers flee into the forests of Nazi-occupied Belarus and turn hiding into resistance. Daniel Craig is Tuvia Bielski, who begins gathering refugees from nearby ghettos and building a fragile camp in the woods; Liev Schreiber’s Zus is more drawn to armed retaliation alongside the Soviet partisans. As the number of people under their protection grows, the brothers face hunger, exposure, and the strain of trying to survive while fighting back. Based on a true story, the film follows the Bielskis at the point where family loyalty, leadership, and war collide.
