Lust, Caution
ActionAdventureDramaRomanceThrillerWar158 min
In Hong Kong in 1938, a group of university students are drawn into anti-occupation politics and hatch a dangerous plan: use one of their own to get close to a powerful collaborator. Their target is Mr. Yee, a senior intelligence figure tied to the puppet government, and the plot depends on keeping up an elaborate false identity without breaking under pressure. Years later in occupied Shanghai, the operation resumes in a city ruled by fear, suspicion, and constant surveillance. As the young woman at the center of the scheme, played by Tang Wei, moves deeper into Yee’s private world opposite Tony Leung Chiu-wai, the line between performance, desire, and betrayal becomes harder to hold.
