Taste of Cherry
Drama99 min
Homayoun Ershadi is Mr. Badii, a middle-aged man driving the dusty hills outside Tehran in search of a stranger willing to carry out a single task after his planned suicide: return the next morning and bury him if he’s dead. Over the course of the day, the people who enter his car — including a young soldier and an older taxidermist — answer him with alarm, argument, or hard-won perspective. Told largely through these roadside conversations, the film stays close to Badii’s routine and the stark landscape around him.
