Twenty years after the war has ended, Stan Laurel’s Stan is still dutifully standing watch in a trench in France, unaware the armistice ever came. When a newspaper photo finally brings the mix-up to light, Oliver Hardy’s Ollie reconnects with his old army pal and brings him back to the States. The reunion quickly collides with civilian life: cramped domestic space, modern gadgets Stan doesn’t understand, and Ollie’s already tense home routine. What follows moves from trench absurdity to household chaos, with Laurel and Hardy trading their usual confusion, damage, and escalating trouble once the old friends are under the same roof.
