La Dolce Vita

ComedyDrama176 min

Marcello Mastroianni is Marcello Rubini, a Rome celebrity journalist drifting from parties, scandals, and church spectacles while trying to become a serious writer. Federico Fellini follows him through the city’s aristocrats, movie stars, and hangers-on, where the pull of gossip and glamour keeps colliding with the domestic life offered by his girlfriend Emma (Yvonne Furneaux). Anita Ekberg’s Sylvia, a visiting starlet who sweeps him into a night through Rome, becomes one more version of the life Marcello chases as he moves between tabloids, high society, and his own uncertain ambitions.
