Take Me Out to the Ball Game
ComedyMusicalRomance93 min
With the defending champion Wolves inherited by new owner K.C. Higgins, the team braces for a meddling fool and instead meets a woman who knows baseball. Esther Williams is K.C., while Frank Sinatra’s second baseman Dennis Ryan is quickly taken with her. Dennis and his roommate Eddie O’Brien spend the off-season in vaudeville and the summer on the field, so the story moves between dugouts, dressing rooms, and song-and-dance routines. As Dennis falls for the new boss, Eddie’s flirtations and a group of gamblers circling the team complicate life around the ballclub in this 1949 musical comedy.
